Assembly Artisan - Port Elizabeth

Responsibilities: Ensure access to and familiarity with all policies and procedures applicable to the job Receive tasks/duties from the shift technician and or process engineer Obtain the correct process instructions for the job to be performed Set-up the assembly jigs and fixtures/machinery and equipment as per the process instructions and adjust the necessary to ensure acceptable quality and quantity production Ensure set-ups and line changes are carried out with minimum interruptions of the production and maximum attention to minimizing set-up/line-change times Check the operation on a regular basis during the production cycle and ensure that the required quality and quantity (cycle times) are maintained Check all unused tools, jigs and fixtures for damage and ensure same are stored in correct locations maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices at all times to ensure that all activities within the area of responsibilities are performed in compliance with the company policies and procedures, and legislation with specific emphasis on health and safety, and environmental aspects undertake the safe and efficient installation of all new mechanical and electrical equipment, plant, and machinery as directed prompt and efficient attendance to all breakdowns and stoppages due to electrical/mechanical failure/fault conduct inspections and preventative maintenance of all electrical/mechanical equipment, plant, and machinery as directed performance of shift, overtime (subject to legislated constraints) and stand-by duties in accordance with departmental rosters or as directed by management undertake any other task, projects or duties as allocated by management from time to time Requirements Electrical/Mechanical/Millwright qualification Robotic programming Hotplate, vibration, and ultrasonic welding, and Assembly environment knowledge and experience advantageous Due to the high volume of applications received, only suitable candidates who meet the criteria of this vacancy will be contacted.
