Product Designer

Our client, a transport and logistics company, is looking for an Product Designer to join their team in the Kraaifontein area. Roles and Responsibilities As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating user-centered designs for our client’s products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and innovative design solutions. Your key responsibilities will include: User Research and Analysis: Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Analyze research findings to inform design decisions and create user personas. Stay updated with industry trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for improvement. User Experience (UX) Design: Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that effectively communicate design Create user journey maps and conduct usability testing to refine designs. Ensure the design process is user-centered, focusing on creating intuitive and engaging experiences. User Interface (UI) Design: Design visually appealing and cohesive user interfaces for web and mobile applications. Develop design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency. Collaborate with developers to implement designs and ensure design fidelity. Interaction Design: Design interactive elements such as buttons, menus, and navigation flows. Create animations and transitions to enhance the user experience. Build interactive prototypes to test and demonstrate design ideas. Visual Design: Produce high-quality visual assets, including icons, illustrations, and graphics. Apply principles of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy to designs. Ensure that designs align with brand guidelines and visual identity. Figma Design: Create high to low fidelity wireframes in Figma, ensuring a smooth design-to-development handoff. Develop detailed and exportable Figma designs that developers can easily convert into Maintain and update Figma design files, ensuring they are well-organized and accessible. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and constraints. Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, gathering feedback and iterating as needed. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Problem-Solving and Innovation: Identify design challenges and propose creative solutions. Balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints. Continuously seek opportunities to improve the product and design process. Project Management: Manage design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines are met. Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Use project management tools to track progress and communicate with the team. Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or some formal education) Proven experience as a Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma (especially), Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Expertise in creating high to low fidelity wireframes and detailed designs in Figma. Experience in developing designs in Figma that can be seamlessly exported into code by developers. Solid understanding of UX principles, user research methods, and usability testing. Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail. Experience with prototyping tools like InVision, Marvel, or Axure. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset. The position in based in their head office.
