£26.48 - £35.03 per hour

One of Morson's prestigious aerospace clients are currently recruiting for a project leader for wing modifications and new developments. They are looking for someone with a background in product improvement and existing product modifications in an engineering environment.

Because it's based around the improvement of an existing product the role is being offered on a 12-month contract, but there may be opportunities to extend or convert into a permanent role. The role can pay £26.48 per hour PAYE or £35.03 per hour Umbrella across a 35 hour week.

Responsibilities

• Provide Industrial assessments at all project milestone gates
• Define & monitor an industrial top level project plan for each modification
• Contribute to resource planning workload and funding requirements
• Ensure all plans are produced and managed to a level of detail to ensure the accurate delivery of time, cost, quality and safety requirements
• Ensure regular engagement and communication to enable the management and appropriate escalation of project risks and opportunities.
• Apply a risk & opportunity review process including the maintenance of a local risk & opportunities register and reporting chart.
• Chair the weekly governance process inclusive of project leaders and key stakeholders.
• Develop and deploy, with Operational support, communication and awareness training into the Operations team (including line-side support functions) and engagement of the operational stakeholders
• Coordinate & manage industrial trials

Requirements

• Product management experience in an engineering environment
• Experience of the modification or improvement of a live engineering product
• Able to manage stakeholders, risk, budget, opportunity and workload
• Understanding of broad manufacturing processes across an engineering plant.

Desirables

• Aerospace experience
• Understanding of the end-to-end wing build process
• Project Management qualifications

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
