Job Description

Who we are looking for

A Maintenance Engineer, who will specialise in plumbing and heating to manage and maintain these services in all our sites within the property portfolio, undertaking both reactive and planned works.


You will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer working in our varied commercial and residential properties, working as part of a small team within the Facilities and Services department.


You will be familiar with creating and completing all required maintenance documentation and updates on our electronic systems. This will include creating written job plans and technical reports.


You will be required to support the department’s on-call rota, including any pre-planned works and responding to equipment issues.


Preferred skills and experience

  • NVQ or City & Guilds certification in a relevant category.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, heating, ventilation, F-Gas and refrigeration.
  • Mechanical maintenance engineering experience.
  • Gas safe trained.
  • Renewable energy installation and maintenance experience.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Knowledge of hot and cold water systems.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of LEV systems is beneficial.
  • Application of good fault finding and communication skills are essential.


Main Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned maintenance activities.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on a wide variety of plants including water heaters, calorifiers, motors, circulating heating pumps, vented and unvented systems, boilers, fans, drives, ground and air source heating systems.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities for Legionella management.
  • Ensuring all health and safety obligations are met and coordinated with the project delivery team.
  • Ensuring sites are maintained in a clean manner at all times.
  • Producing, managing and maintaining critical spares lists.
  • Supporting the Estates Manager with the development of process and procedures.


Ensuring processes and best practices are adopted, adhered to and reviewed within the team.
