Job Description

We are a rapidly growing crypto hedge fund, 2 years old, managing a 9-figure AUM, generating 200%+ annualized returns with a 4 Sharpe.

We are seeking a Project Manager to help keep us organized across all of our strategies with the following 3 key responsibilities:

  1. Write, update, and communicate incisive plans that easily keep all key stakeholders aligned across our organization.
  2. On a daily basis, manage the backlogs and timelines across our teams.
  3. On a daily basis, write and maintain high-quality documentation across our teams.

While these will be your key responsibilities, we are a startup and you will definitely be called upon to fulfill other requirements, of which we've included examples at the bottom.

This is an opportunity:

  • To be exposed to a wide variety of technologies and strategies across a digital asset hedge fund.
  • To learn faster than at many other places -- we will be giving you a wide variety of challenging tasks, and you can expect an accelerated career progression. You'll be a critical piece of the communication infrastructure.
  • To get in on the ground floor of a successful and rapidly growing team in an asset class poised for growth. There will be advancement opportunities as we continue to expand.

Key Requirements

Necessities

  1. At times, writing may utilize a majority of your time. You must be an extremely strong (English) written communicator.
  2. You will work with several teams to help them with their written plans. You must be sharp enough to ask insightful questions when you spot inconsistencies or gaps in thinking.
  3. You're already familiar with the basics of our industry (market making, crypto, and hedge funds).
  4. You have a technical background (systematic trading, on-chain data engineering, and scraping). Teams will rely on you for documentation. If you're not familiar with the relevant technical jargon, it's going to be very hard.
  5. You must be familiar and comfortable using tools like JIRA.

Nice-to-Haves

  • It would be ideal if you are comfortable running our Scrums.
  • You should be comfortable speaking in both English and Chinese as many of our developers can give you information more easily in one language or another.

Interview Process

  1. CV Screening - Against the criteria above.
  2. (Optional) Recruiter Call - If your CV needs additional screening.
  3. Systematic Technology Interview - Our systematic team leads will interview you to assess your suitability to help them with planning and documentation.
  4. Project Manager Interview - You will be interviewed on your general project management skills.
  5. Discretionary Technology Assessment - A project and its timeline will be described to you and you will need to put together a written summary fit for an executive to read.
  6. Partners Interview - Final interview with the CIO for cultural fit

This role requires you to relocate to Taiwan and physically be in our Taiwan office. Please specify you have read this sentence in your application.

To increase your chance of entering our interview process, please write to recruiting+PJM@hermeneutic.investments with your CV and cover letter that includes the answers to the following questions:

  1. Why do you meet the requirement outlined in this JD?

Throughout the process, you'll be assessed for cultural fit through our company values:

  1. Drive - We believe the best team members are passionate about what they do, and that propels them to greater heights in their career. It drives them to be part of the best teams where they are exposed to the best ideas.
  2. Ownership - We aim to give ownership interest to as many people in the firm as possible, but in return, we expect everyone to act like owners. "Not my responsibility" is a repugnant phrase to us.
  3. Judgement - We look for team members who consistently look at the big picture and spend their time on the activities that most drive PnL. They are pragmatic with their time; they don't stick to their narrow domain if it doesn't move the needle.
  4. Openness - We want a culture where we proactively share information with one another and challenge each other with constructive debate to reach the truth.
  5. Competence - We value people with high intellectual horsepower. They have already become an expert in one or more domains and learn extremely quickly when in unfamiliar territory.
