Job Description: Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment for repair. Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures. Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to avoid contamination or safety hazards. Work with a range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding, and brazing equipment. Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Perform machine maintenance as per provided schedules. (Performs PM's, cleans and lubricates injection moulding machines and equipment) Troubleshooting, repair and improvement of complex plastics processing and ancillary equipment. Perform root cause analysis, practical development and implement solutions to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness. Coordinate and implement preventive maintenance activities. Provide guidance to peers to ensure optimum production, quality and safety while minimizing costs, energy usage and waste in accordance with corporate policies and health & safety laws. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairs. Visually inspects and solves problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing machinery Potential duties may also include fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general welding or plumbing. Participates in the implementation of various improvement projects. Performs installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipment Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical and electrical principles Job Requirements: Red seal qualification at a reputable institution. Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems. Experience with Plastic injection moulding, extrusion and/or thermoforming Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives Familiarity with the operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming. Ability to safely trace electrical circuits with a multi-meter and wiring schematic to find faulty components. Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Proficiency with using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Compliance with safety regulations and maintenance of clean and orderly work areas Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently. Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
