Associate General Counsel


Leading entrepreneurial international law firm seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide support to their General Counsel and PI Partner. This is a newly created position within the business as part of their succession planning.


  • Salary to £140,000
  • Hybrid working (2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities of the Associate General Counsel:


  • Assisting with the documentation surrounding a partner's legal relationship to the firm on joining or other change
  • Providing legal advice to the firm's senior management on various legal issues affecting the business
  • Together with the Risk & Compliance team, ensuring that the firm complies with the relevant laws and regulations in its operations and business activities
  • Identifying and managing legal risks that the firm may face, and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks
  • Providing legal guidance on employment-related matters throughout the firm's network
  • Assisting in the protection of the firm by procuring relevant insurance protection in various areas and liaising with brokers and insurers in that regard


Key Requirements of the Associate General Counsel:


  • Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales), with at least 5 years' PQE
  • Training and experience gained at a leading international law firm
  • Professional Negligence experience as a fee earner ideal, and at least 5 years' experience within risk
  • Employment experience helpful, but not essential
  • A strong foundation in legal principles and knowledge across various areas of law
