Job Description

Interim Scrum Master

£500 - £700 Per day

Role Overview:

We are at the beginning of a comprehensive pricing transformation journey, transitioning from spreadsheets to a robust platform (HX). We are looking for someone to take a leadership role in a delivery capacity, this is not an “ivory tower” coaching role, its hands on delivery and stakeholder management that’s required. The right candidate will have a blend of Scrum expertise and hands-on technical knowledge in pricing models and releases. This role requires deep collaboration with the Head of Pricing, developers, and internal actuaries to build a sustainable pricing capability.

You’ll work closely with multiple teams, prioritise releases, manage backlogs, and help establish foundation-level capabilities, all while guiding the team towards self-sufficiency by mid-next year. You must be comfortable engaging at both a strategic and operational level, particularly in technical discussions around pricing models and releases.

Key Responsibilities:

Scrum Master: Lead workstream on agile delivery of pricing transformation, primarily focusing on model development and releases.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with the Head of Pricing and the Head of Data to ensure smooth delivery and manage expectations. You will also work with internal actuaries, project managers and business analysts as part of a small but dynamic team.

Team Partnership: Support HX and development teams, ensuring alignment with internal actuaries as they upskill to become self-sufficient by mid-2025.

Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on expertise in the development and release of pricing models. Knowledge of model releases and platform integration (HX, Tyche or similar) is crucial.

Backlog and Release Management: Prioritise the backlog and work closely with technical teams to ensure timely delivery of releases while maintaining a strong focus on detail.

Required Experience:

Proven experience as a Scrum Master, with hands-on technical involvement in pricing transformations.

Expertise with pricing platforms, particularly HX, or experience working with or knowledge of Tyche or similar is highly beneficial.

Experience in model development and release cycles, particularly in an actuarial context.

Background working with pricing and actuary teams in London Market environment

Ability to engage with both strategic leadership (Head of Pricing, Head of Data) and operational teams (developers, actuaries).

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to manage multiple workstreams, releases, and cross-functional teams.

Why Join?:

You'll play a crucial role in a key transformation project, helping our teams build long-term capabilities in pricing model development.

A chance to collaborate with a diverse, skilled team of developers, actuaries, and data experts in a hybrid work environment.
