Location: Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire Border

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

Are you a hands-on finance professional looking to make a real impact in a dynamic and growing SME? Our client is a Manufacturing / Services based business with a broad product range and an extensive customer base, they are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to join their leadership team.

As the Finance Controller, you will report directly to the Managing Director. You will oversee all financial aspects of the company, promoting efficiencies across both finance and operational areas. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the organisation meets all necessary tax and legal reporting requirements.

Collaborate with the executive team to establish effective processes and controls, maintaining the integrity of the companys ledgers.

Lead and manage a small finance team of four.

Oversee financial control activities, including monthly and quarterly financial reviews, presenting findings to the board of directors.

Provide executive team with comprehensive financial information to guide policy-making and financial strategy.

Analyse budget trends, identify deficiencies, and report variances.

Support external auditors with year-end statutory reporting.

Coordinate tax preparation for external tax accountants.

What Were Looking For:

A qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience in a similar role.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a finance team.

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.

Ability to work collaboratively with the executive team and influence decision-making.

Experience in an SME environment is advantageous but not essential.

Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, growing business environment.
