Lead GIS Architect

Salary: up to £110,000 + benefits (DOE)

Fortice are supporting a global consultancy, which has recently won a large digital transformation programme with the UK Public Sector. They are scaling a team of GIS Developers and Architects, and need someone to lead this team and the development and implementation of GIS solutions.

Here's what you will be doing:

• Architectural Design: you will develop and maintain the overall GIS architecture, including data models, application frameworks, and integration strategies. You will ensure the architecture supports scalability, performance, and security requirements.
• Lead GIS projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to gather requirements and define project scope.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to GIS analysts, developers, and other team members. You will also recommend new tools and techniques as appropriate leaning on your knowledge of the latest GIS technologies and trends
• Data Management: Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of spatial data, ensuring data integrity and quality. You will also develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
• System Integration: Design and implement integration strategies for GIS with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, and other databases).
• Provide support and training to end-users, helping them effectively utilize GIS tools and applications. You will ensure user documentation and training materials is up to date and available.
• Quality Assurance to ensure GIS products meet standards and user expectations. This will be done by conducting regular reviews and audits of GIS projects and processes.
• Assist in the preparation and management of the GIS budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

With this project being Public sector focused, all applicants must be eligible for UK Security clearance at SC level (5+ years in the UK).
