Staff Release Engineer - Git Internals / Python / Bash

Are you an engineer with experience setting up release processes that is looking for a new role within a newly established software engineering group.

At European Recruitment we are working alongside at a globally recognizable semiconductor company, helping them to bring on board a Staff Release Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing release engineering and branch management for production firmware releases.
• Delivering thoroughly tested, production-quality downstream firmware to partners.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to develop comprehensive release plans.
• Creating detailed release notes and ensuring clear communication with internal and external collaborators.
• Managing the entire release process, including branch management and all aspects of software version control.
• Developing continuous integration (CI) pipelines to streamline downstream firmware release processes.

Skills:

• Demonstrated expertise in release management and automation for high-quality system software.
• Experience in software build processes and build management, covering both release candidates and formal downstream software releases.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of quality assurance (QA) for platform software on server platforms.
• Experience in defect triaging and defect management for system software releases.
• Familiarity with open-source projects such as Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II, and OpenBMC.
• Experience in managing a diverse team.
• Practical experience with Yocto SDK.
