Facilities Bridge Crane Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Bridge Crane Engineer to join our team. As a Facilities Bridge Crane Engineer at Tesla, you will be responsible for post design/Post installation work of bridge crane systems within the Tesla facility. This critical role requires a deep understanding of crane technology to ensure safe and efficient material handling operations.
* Installation and Commissioning: Collaborate with installation and commissioning teams of the bridge crane systems, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed
* Maintenance and Repairs: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for bridge crane systems, including regular inspections, servicing, and repairs. Help troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
* Safety Compliance: Ensure all bridge crane systems meet safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and industry-specific guidelines. Work with EHS to coordinate safety protocols and safety training
* Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of bridge crane systems and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. This includes evaluating load capacity, speed, and control systems
* Documentation and Reporting: Work with maintenance to make ensure accurate records of maintenance and repairs, as well as equipment manuals and documentation. Provide regular updates on crane performance and maintenance activities to management
* Team Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance teams, electrical engineers, controls engineers, design engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient crane operations within the facility. Offer technical support and guidance to other personnel as needed
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
* Professional engineering license (PE) preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation, and maintenance of bridge crane systems
* Strong knowledge of structural engineering, electrical systems, and crane technology
* Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for layout and design
* Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards for crane operations
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Strong project management and organizational abilities
* Effective communication and teamwork skills
