Job Description
The Head of Data Solutions for this leading technology driven Hedge Fund seeks an experienced Software Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience post Bachelor’s / Master’s for their fast-paced Data Development group. Candidates suited to this will currently be L5-L6 FAANG level / equivalent.
True collaborative and innovative execution focused environment, suited to individuals from Tech, Big Tech firms, and similar. Working closely with multiple areas of the business inc. Trading and Quant Research, plus in partnership with traditional Data Engineering (ETL/ELT), and various Development teams including ML Engineering, and ULL Software Dev groups you'll be responsible for –
- Design, build and implementation of new and optimization of existing services and solutions enabling ingestion, integration, storage, and provision of multi-terabyte sized traditional and alternate datasets.
- Design, build and optimization of real-time data pipelines, frameworks, associated APIs and Microservices. and bespoke analytics tools.
- Architecting highly scalable, concurrent, and low latency systems.
Skills and Experience required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience post STEM Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s with 1st class preferred)
- Experienced of building High throughput Realtime Data solutions and services
- Current Python expertise inc. intimate knowledge of libraries - Pandas, NumPy, SciPy
- Exp. with high performance languages such as Go, C++, C#, Rust, JVM-based beneficial
- Strong SQL skills
- DevOps and CI/CD exp. with the likes of GitLab / Jenkins / Docker / Kubernetes / Bamboo
- Experience of Data warehouse and Big Data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake and the Hadoop ecosystem including Spark.
- Experience of GCP, AWS or Azure preferred
- Familiarity with LeetCode / HackerRank
