Department

This is an amazing opportunity help prepare for, and manage, the transition of the business from one shareholder to another. We are looking for SMEs from across the organisation to help support the development of the Business Handover Plan, the creation of a data room for potential bidders for the Successor Licence and to help deliver the transition

The role

Your role will be to manage the transition of this near CNI organisation and its 700 employees, to new ownership and a successful start to the next phase of its evolution. You will be involved all aspects of the transition, including the transfer of people, contracts, assets, systems and processes and will have a key role in managing internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced Transition Manager who is organised, proactive, and can manage large complex transition programmes. Your role will involve

What will you be doing

  • Managing the ongoing development of the Business Handover Plan (BHP) and its subsidiary documents
  • Supporting the creation and population of a data room to support Ofgems procurement for the Successor Licensee and engaging with a team of SMEs to ensure the right data is provided at the right time.
  • Business Transition Governance including management and Secretariat of the Joint Handover Steering Group that will include Capita, Ofgem, DESNZ and the Successor Licensee Management and delivery of a detailed internal and external communications and engagement plan


As an Licence Transition Manageryou will be accountable for:

  • Transition planning: specifically maintaining and updating a regulated Business Handover Plan that meets stakeholder needs
  • Programme Planning: working closely with the Licence Renewal Programme manager to ensure all transition milestones are integrated into the overall plan, risks identified managed and escalated and regular progress reporting complete.
  • Transition Governance: preparing papers for the various licence renewal governance and oversight groups on progress with transition and to seek input to key decisions. Providing business management support to the Joint Handover Steering Group
  • Financial Management: Working with the finance business partner to cost the business handover activities and manage expenditure
  • Skills and Experience Essential
  • An experienced Transition Manager with a strong track record of transitioning complex businesses
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across an organisation
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)


Skills and Experience- Desirable

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience of the energy sector
