Project Estimator - Child Care Facility

Job Description

Our client is a diversified property, investment and financial services group spanning the APAC region. As one of the key pillars of the group, Our client specializes in the design, construction, and delivery of a wide range of medium density town living projects and our newly formed Childcare and retail divisions.

With a focus on growth, our expanding team is looking for a Project Estimator to join the team. The role will ensure our medium density, childcare and retail projects are estimated accurately and administer the efficient & effective delivery of building information to site personnel.

Role overview:

The role will require regular liaison with construction personnel, consultants, suppliers & contractors to achieve the best and most accurate outcome for the respective project and to ensure ongoing relationships are fostered and maintained.

The position is responsible for accurately reviewing project documentation including - contracts, permits, architectural drawings, engineering, project specifications & inclusions in line with our client's methodology.

The Project Estimator is required to administer the efficient & effective delivery of building information to site personnel by implementing effective purchasing and cost control measures.

Key responsibilities:

· Ensures that construction projects are estimated & ordered for accurately and within designated time frames

· Accurately review project documentation including - contracts, permits, architectural drawings, engineering, project specifications & inclusions along with our client methodology to prepare project allowances, requests & reviews of supplier & contractor quotations,

· Complete accurate material & labour take offs where required,

· Producing a Project Bill of Quantities, Locked Project Budget & Purchase Orders for construction issue.

· Regular liaison with construction personnel, consultants, suppliers & contractors to achieve the best and most accurate outcome for the respective project

· Ensures ongoing relationships are fostered and maintained.

About you

· You possess strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

· Have the ability to work under pressure, manage timeframes and achieve deadlines.

· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills dealing with clients, suppliers, trades and team members.

· Are proactive, analytical and logical.

Qualifications

· Estimating experience in Childcare or similar projects favorable.

· Tertiary qualified (Industry degree or similar).

· Have 5 years+ practical experience in an Estimating role.

· Appreciation of project-based construction.

· Computer literate - Internet, Email, Excel, Plan Swift, Data build.

· Knowledge and understanding in establishing budgets.

· Understanding of OHS&E procedures and requirements
