Reporting to our General Manager, you will join the Legal team.

This job has been tailored for you if:

Liaise with F&P business to identify legal needs, desired business outcomes and legal and business risks, provide commercially appropriate legal advice and prepare and negotiate appropriate legal documents.

Assess and prioritise legal issues to ensure efficient and timely advice is provided to the business.

Assess and manage contractual liability and risks to ensure legal and business risks are understood, highlighted and managed appropriately.

Maintain knowledge of legal requirements in Europe and the UK and identify when specialist legal expertise is required to ensure legislative requirements are met, risks are managed and business outcomes achieved.

• Engage, brief and monitor external legal providers to ensure provision of timely, valid and appropriate specialist legal support.
• Monitor corporate governance and company secretarial compliance requirements for F&P legal entities in Europe and assist as needed to meet compliance requirements.
• Educate and provide ongoing training to internal customers on F&P policies & procedures, legal risk and compliance issues and legislative changes that affect F&P to ensure the business is adequately prepared to meet internal and external compliance requirements.

Review, draft and approve changes and developments to internal F&P policies and procedures to effectively manage legal risk.

Participate in the management of legal claims against F&P to ensure effective investigation, litigation and settlement outcomes.

Work closely with the wider F&P legal team across the global business to share knowledge and promote the role of the legal team in F&P and ensure legal advice is sought and valued by the business to minimise risk.

• Lead, manage and develop legal function in Europe to ensure a highly motivated team and a high-performance culture as required.

You are our ideal candidate if:

At least 10 years’ corporate or commercial law experience.

Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in a law firm.

In-house legal experience preferred.

International legal experience preferred.

Excellent written and verbal. French and English language skills.

Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.

Experience with European privacy and data protection regulations.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Strong ability to prioritise multiple assignments based on business needs and risk.

Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Commercial knowledge and understanding.

Understanding of risk benefit trade-offs.
