Legal Cashier

This full-service prestigious City law firm wish to hire a Legal Cashier to support with firmwide legal finance transactions. The firm has a very healthy and flexible culture with strong values in place that make them a leader in their field.

£40,000 - £45,000

Hybrid working - 2 days office / 3 days remote - Hours

The role is replacing the existing Legal Cashier and will work directly with the Finance Manager and a small finance team. The Legal Cashier will primarily focus on client and office account cashiering and accounts payable, hot desking with the other Legal Cashier to ensure full transparency across all the firm’s ledgers. They and are keen to consider strong all rounded Legal Cashier professionals with a confident knowledge of VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules able to work to multiple deadlines and case completions.

Legal Cashier responsibilities:

• Office & Client bank reconciliations
• Client receipts and electronic payment preparation
• Banking of cheques
• Credit card postings and reconciliations
• Invoice processing and review
• Assisting with working capital management write-offs, disbursements and credit note requests
• Supplier invoice processing and payments
• Expense claim processing and payments
• Responding to Finance queries
• Assisting with report preparation and distribution such as costs and residual balances
• Ensuring high volume disbursements are processed efficiently

Legal Cashier requirements;

• Minimum of 3 years' experience currently operating as a Legal Cashier
• Good working knowledge of Excel and various legal accounting software
• Strong up to date knowledge of VAT, SAR and AML procedures
• Flexible approach and a collaborative team player
