Architectural NZC Consultant / Modeller

Reporting to the Studio NZC LeadandNZC Associate Director-Architecture, this role involves helping to develop and deliver NZC advice and low energy / carbon solutions inarchitectural and multi-disciplinary projects of varying type, size and complexity.

Project work is primarily within the public sector, includingDefence and FCDO, complemented by residential and mixed used opportunities.

Your Role

You will be an essential part of our established NZC team working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team ona variety of new build and refurbishment projects, facilitating the delivery of climate resistant, low energy buildings.As part of this process, you will model and report on Whole Life, Embodied and Operational Carbon using tools such as LCA One Click Software and PassivHaus PHPP.

You will explore different construction techniques, measuring their impact on the environment, keeping up to date with industry standards and policies.

You will help our Design Teams deliver energy efficient buildings and refurbishments with a focus on airtight, highly insulated building envelopes and efficient building services.

About You

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual with the ability to deliver high qualitywork to deadlines as part of a team. Good communication skills and a responsible and accountable approach is essential. You will have a thorough knowledge of building construction and have some experience in technical detailing.

A proven track record of working on low energy buildings and/or retrofit projects is desirable, as are any related qualifications and certification (Passivhaus, AECB).

A wider understanding of and interest in sustainability would be an advantage.

Required Skills

Excellent numeracy and communication skills are essential for this position.

You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of an established team.

You must be proficient in the use of REVIT.

Experience of using One Click LCA and PassivHaus PHPP is desirable but not essential.
