Our client, a housing association are looking for an experienced qualified accountant and financial forecaster to update and maintain the company’s financial plans on a part-time basis.

Financial Planning Analyst
Hours: 21 hours (part-time) up to 60% remote, 40% in office
Location: Finsbury Park, N4 2DR / Hybrid working possible
Salary: £33,000 (£55,000 full time equivalent)
Contract: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to help shape the strategic direction of a housing association that provides a vital service to the communities of Islington, Hackney and Waltham Forest. It is an interesting and varied role suited to someone who not only has sound forecasting skills but is also great at communicating with key stakeholders in the business who each have a part in shaping our financial plan.

You will use your knowledge and experience of forecasting to help ensure their financial plan helps shape their strategic direction to maximise the good they can do in the communities they serve.

You will work closely with senior managers and the Leadership Team.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive medium and long-term financial plans, aligning them with the overall strategic plan.
  • To provide professional advice on the strategic direction of the Association to Leadership Team.
  • To provide insightful analysis to Leadership Team, contributing to well informed commercial decision making.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure that long-term financial plans are integrated with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Engage in detailed analysis of potential risks and opportunities associated with long-term financial strategies and operational projects.
  • To update the 30-year plan for approval by Leadership Team on a quarterly basis and for approval by Board on an annual basis.

You

They are seeking a proactive, reliable and committed individual who can deliver accurate financial plans with excellent insight and advice.

You don’t need to have worked in Housing before, but it will be an advantage if you have.

As well as being technically very competent, you will have the ability to communicate and work effectively with stakeholders. You will be very organised and professional in your approach.

You will be a proficient Excel user. Experience of using Power BI will be an advantage, but is not essential.

Staff Benefits

They’ll offer you a generous pension scheme (up to 10% employer matched contributions and a death in service benefit), 29 days annual leave (increasing after five years’ service), eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits (see attached). They have an evolving wellbeing offer, that is being developed following employee feedback, and they will invest in your professional development with on-going training and career development opportunities.

About the employer

They are a small but ambitious housing association at a critical juncture. Their ambition is for the communities they are anchored in and exist to serve, and they have done and achieved much over the past few years. But in these challenging times they know they’ll achieve nothing unless they are equally ambitious for their own people.

Their values are at the heart of who they are and everything they do, inspiring their thinking and guiding their actions. They strive to build a more diverse organisation, where everyone feels empowered to bring, and be, their best self to work.

They can’t be a brilliant landlord if they don’t partner with brilliant colleagues. Could you be one of them and be trusted to make the difference?

If this sounds exciting, they want you on their team. Please do apply.

This role is based at their Head Office but there is some flexibility to work in a hybrid way if preferred.

Deadline: 09:00 on 14 October 2024.
Interview: 24 October 2024 in person

A vital part of this is ensuring they are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking. They particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and those of Other Ethnicities, LGBTQ+, disabled and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to their residents so that passionate commitment to customers, respect for everyone, pride in the Team and trusted to make the difference remains at the heart of everything they do.

Asking for adjustments

The organisation is committed to making their recruitment practices barrier-free and as accessible as possible for everyone. This includes making adjustments or changes for disabled people, neurodiverse people or people with long-term health conditions. If you would like them to do anything differently during the application, interview, or assessment process, including providing information in an alternative format, this can be discussed.
