JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES :

The High Voltage (HV) Safety Engineer Specialist is accountable for the Operational Functional Safety for electrical and power systems (including H2 E/E systems). The BEV and FCEV vehicles contain high voltage DC and AC safety related elements in order to achieve safety goals related to electric buses.

You will be responsible to perform safety analysis and to manage safety workproducts on systems and items where the e-mobility department is responsible for, across different projects and different variants of buses:

• To maintain/update Hazard and Risk Analysis in order to define safety goals

• To perform Fault tree analysis

• To ensure consistency between safety analysis, safety requirements and architecture

• To extract specific safety requirements allocated to each products supplier in the Product Card.

Systems in the scope are: HV boxes (PDU/junction box/insulation monitoring), Inverters (Auxiliaries/driveline/DC/DC), Battery pack incl. BMS, VMU, Fuel Cell, H2 valves and sensors, pressure sensors)

You will have to ensure close collaboration with FuSa IVECO central department in order to find FUSA synergy on concept/components for other vehicle portfolio of Iveco group (M&H Trucks, Light commercial vehicles…)

Principal subjects: project management, planning, risk assessment and management, tracking, FuSa supplier follow up, safety analysis, requirement management.

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience:

  • Hands-on safety analysis
  • Quantitative and qualitative Fault Tree Analysis
  • FIT rate allocation
  • Capacity to deliver regular release according to specific configuration or maturity
  • Safety implementation at ECU’s level
  • FuSa management with a supplier Tiers 1 or a customer
  • Analysis and evaluation of HV-safety related requirements and derivation of system design measures in close collaboration with corresponding domains (HW and SW)

Technical knowledges:

  • FTA/FMEA methodology (component and system level). FMEDA is a plus
  • High voltage components functionalities and HW specifications
  • Electric and hybrid driveline architectures
  • Electro-mechanical systems
  • Vehicle behavior/driving dynamics
  • Homologation requirements
  • Electronic circuits and understanding of electric and electronic schematics
  • CAN bus network management (Standard SAE J1939 /CAN 2.0B) and LIN communication protocol
  • Communication interfaces: CAN/SENT/PSI5/SPI/PWM

Processes knowledges:

  • Functional safety standard (ISO26262, IEC61508, ISO13849, ISO19014, EN50128) and safety culture in general (risks identification and analysis)
  • V-Model development process, phases and gates
  • Automotive Safety Standard for electric vehicles and European regulation (ISO, SAE, ECE, AEF, IEC,R100, R134…)
  • Professional tool skills:
  • Microsoft Office365™ tools
  • Polarion (or any other equivalent application for lifecycle development tool/requirement management)
  • Tools/template for safety analysis (Medini is a plus)
  • MBSE/Architecture tool (Rhapsody is a plus)

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS (including education):

  • Secondary school on Electronic, Informatics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or equivalent fields
  • Capacity to create both the risk assessment and the contingency plan
  • Capacity to identify bugs and promote the relative corrective action plan
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proactive attitude and educational approach when relevant
  • 5 years work experience minimum
