Job Description

About the role:

The Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) team within DDV is a small team of c. 20 individuals within a broader DDV organisation (c. 200 heads). We work on a wide range of transactions, primarily for private equity houses and large corporates.

Our team comprises both career-consultants and managers from industry, and welcomes diversity of experience in our hires. Our team includes industry hires with backgrounds in operations, engineering, technology, commercial and sales.

The job will require some degree of travel, although our clients are increasingly accustomed to working offsite. As a team we are committed to PwC's New Deal, which is built on two-way flexibility and trust.

We are looking for a Technology Manager, with experience in the TMT sector, who can help our clients to answer the following questions on a transaction, when reviewing a target's platform and operations (be that for a pure play software company or a tech-enabled company):
  • Are the platform and operations well-invested or will I need to spend a lot of cash in the short-term addressing issues?
  • Are the platform and operations well designed and can they scale to support our growth ambitions?
  • Are the platform and operations robust?
  • Do management's proposed initiatives/projects to enhance the platform and operations effectively support the broader business plan?

Additionally, the candidate should be able to help support TMT clients and their CTOs with various technology cost assessments, including estimating technology carve-out costs, evaluating operating and capital expenditures, and assessing technology-related synergies.

Note that we expect candidates to be able to answer many of the questions above, although we appreciate that all candidates may not have experience in all areas (e.g. we expect some candidates will have more experience on software versus infrastructure).

What your days will look like:
  • managing small project teams;
  • leading workstreams as part of a broader engagement, including owning key pieces of analysis and deliverables; and
  • onboarding and coaching junior members of staff.

This role is for you if:
  • have the ability to comment on the appropriateness of a platform's design choices such as the application architecture and choice of programming languages.
  • currently operates as a consultant, has TMT sector experience, or works in a technical role within a technology / technology-enabled company (and have hands-on experience delivering or supporting technical solutions)

OR

  • candidate(s) who currently operate as a technical due diligence consultant, ideally within the TMT sector, and/or works in a technical role within a technology, media or telecom business.

What you'll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, ourare designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
