Job Opportunity: Lecturer and Assessor – Mechanical Engineering
Are you passionate about shaping the future of engineering? Do you have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a talent for teaching? We’re looking for a dedicated Lecturer and Assessor to join our Technical Apprenticeship School and help develop the next generation of engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Assessment:
* Deliver high-quality instruction across Level 3 engineering programmes, ensuring apprentices are fully engaged and supported in their learning journey.
* Develop and assess apprenticeship programmes, both on-campus and off-site, ensuring apprentices meet their technical standards and progress toward successful completion.
* Integrate modern IT and learning technologies into your teaching to enhance the learning experience and ensure apprentices are prepared for the demands of the industry.
Apprentice Support:
* Lead induction programmes and provide ongoing academic and pastoral support to apprentices, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
* Regularly review apprentice progress, offering constructive feedback and ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date and accurately maintained.
* Collaborate with employers and colleagues to ensure apprentices are meeting their learning goals and industry expectations.
Curriculum Development:
* Assist in the planning and development of new courses and standards within the engineering department, helping to keep our curriculum current and industry-relevant.
* Participate in team meetings, programme reviews, and quality assurance processes to maintain the high standards of our apprenticeship programmes.
Employer Engagement:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, supporting apprentices in the workplace and ensuring the alignment of training with industry needs.
* Actively seek opportunities to expand employer partnerships and increase apprenticeship placements.
What We’re Looking For:
* Expertise in Mechanical Engineering: A strong background in mechanical engineering with the qualifications and experience to teach and assess at Level 3.
* Passion for Education: A commitment to helping apprentices achieve their full potential through high-quality teaching and assessment.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, from lesson planning to maintaining detailed records of apprentice progress.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with apprentices, colleagues, and industry partners.
