Technical Media Engineer / Broadcast Systems Engineer
9 Month Contract Initially
Hybrid West London - Outside IR35 £400pd TBC

Our well known media broadcasting client based in West London are looking for a Technical Media Engineer / Broadcast Systems Engineer to join the Media Applications and Broadcast Systems team. As Technical Media Engineer, you will be supporting the Broadcast Systems team in the rollout, migration and support of TV Channels across the EMEA, APAC and LATAM region.

Initially 9 month contract Outside IR35 position. Hybrid West London - Must based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK.

Looking for experience/knowledge in Broadcast/Playout workflows/systems/Migrations (Knowledge of Playout Systems, Playlist Interfaces, airtime sales Interface, Testing etc). Able to Develop Scripts for workflows such as Broadcast Management Systems interfaces etc Assisting in Data Migration for BMS Workflows etc. Must be proficient in SQL/databases and able to develop and manage temporary scripting solutions that will assist with ad-hoc workflows and migrations, etc Must have scripting/programming languages (ie Powershell, VBScript, Python etc. Must have Solid understanding of XML/XSL/JSON and other data formats

About the Role
* Act as the technical bridge between Playout and the Business when it comes to Linear / Non-Linear channel
operations and to help resolve any issues.
* Co-ordinate configuration and testing of Playout systems, especially when it comes to Playlist testing and
Media Testing.
* Work with Playout Graphic teams across EMEA, APAC and LATAM with regards data modelling and
structures for Promotional and Secondary Events.
* Engage with the business around Commercial Airtime Sales, for interfacing with External clients, including everything from Analysis to Implementation and Testing
* Ensuring data flow throughout the supply chain allows for linear and non-linear content out to consumers
* Identifying gaps and providing workarounds where possible for the business to maintain consistency in output
* Responsible for managing business issues with data structures, models and segmentation of media.
* Working with quality assurance team to ensure workflows are captured and properly document for quality
testing of product.
* Develop and Manage temporary scripting solutions that will assist with ad-hoc workflows and migrations that
come up as part of legacy workflow challenges, ideally proficient in the likes of Powershell, VBScript, Python,
SQL amongst others

Area of Responsibility

* Inetsat Playout Systems Migration
* Playlist Interface Testing
* Sales Interface Testing
* Developing Scripts for workflows
* Assisting in Data Migration for BMS Workflows
* Work with Wider team to understand and develop solutions for business needs ad-hoc
* Must be able to perform abilities with moderate to low supervision

Experience, skills and Professional Qualifications
* Experience in the Media industry, Broadcast/media servicing
* Experience or solid appreciation of how to successfully work as an Engineer in a fast moving Broadcast
environment where specifications and requirements can change at short notice.
* Minimum 3 years experience in development / engineering role
* Understanding of SQL Programming and other Databases
* Solid understanding of XML/XSL/JSON and other data formats
* Familiar with Playout systems and general workflows regarding this.
