Sr. Network Administrator

-Highly experienced with Palo Alto Firewalls.
-Cloud network experienced in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
-Experienced with Extreme SLX and EXOS switches is a plus.
-Experienced with managing Microsoft Teams for Video Conferencing, Meetings, and Calling

Brief Description:
The Network Administrator has responsibility for designing, implementing, installing and supporting Patterson-UTI's functional data network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in the support of technologies including Data Center, WAN, LAN, Wireless, and Security.
Detailed Description:
Configuration and management of hardware and software to ensure proper functioning of network services
Support network operations in Data Center and Field locations
Architect network solutions to meet business requirements
Work with IT teams and business leaders to develop network requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues escalated by support tiers
Develop network metrics and performance baselines
Create, oversee and test security measures (i.e. access authentication and disaster recovery)
Other duties assigned as needed
Job Requirements
Excellent technical knowledge of network technologies
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Highly self-motivated and self-directed
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership and customer service skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, relevant field of study or 6+ years of equivalent work experience.
6+ years of experience in network security engineering and support in an enterprise environment
6+ years of experience supporting an enterprise Cisco network.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience with ASA firewalls, Meraki, CCNA/CCNP Certifications and/or Palo Alto Security Appliances
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (i.e. TCP/IP) and routing protocols (i.e. BGP, OSPF)
Additional Details:
This position requires the person to be able to work in a time sensitive role while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered. It also requires the physical ability to work in an office environment including the ability to sit for long periods of time while performing office or computer tasks. It may also require travel and/or overnight stay(s) during variable hours [e.g. weekend(s), holiday(s)]. The job may require some overtime including weekend or holidays. All applicants must be able to commit to a full-time schedule.
