About Our Client
Our client is a national general contractor with a strong pipeline of cold storage and light industrial projects in the upcoming years. They offer room for growth and promotion for all employees. They work on a variety of federal, public, healthcare, commercial, mixed-use, and retail projects out of their Chicago office.
Job Description
- Promote growth and development of client relationships
- Attend client meetings throughout the preconstruction process
- Monitor and review potential opportunities
- Prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates as well as detailed estimates
- HARD BID & FEDERAL OR PUBLIC PROJECT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Review documents
- Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors
- Take part in preconstrucion meetings and presentations with owners
- Research market trends and compile historical data for future use
- Prepare discipline estimates by calculating takeoffs
- Participate and lead preconstruction team
- Assist in preparation of preliminary construction
- Visit on-going projects to verify status of estimates

The Successful Applicant
- Over 6 years of preconstruction and estimating experience with a general contractor
- B.S. in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred
- HARD BID & FEDERAL OR PUBLIC PROJECT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, On Screen Takeoff
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong organization skills and strong attention to detail
- OSHA certification is strongly preferred
