Our client is a national general contractor with a strong pipeline of cold storage and light industrial projects in the upcoming years. They offer room for growth and promotion for all employees. They work on a variety of federal, public, healthcare, commercial, mixed-use, and retail projects out of their Chicago office.

Job Description

• Promote growth and development of client relationships
• Attend client meetings throughout the preconstruction process
• Monitor and review potential opportunities
• Prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates as well as detailed estimates
• HARD BID & FEDERAL OR PUBLIC PROJECT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Review documents
• Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors
• Take part in preconstrucion meetings and presentations with owners
• Research market trends and compile historical data for future use
• Prepare discipline estimates by calculating takeoffs
• Participate and lead preconstruction team
• Assist in preparation of preliminary construction
• Visit on-going projects to verify status of estimates

The Successful Applicant

• Over 6 years of preconstruction and estimating experience with a general contractor
• B.S. in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred
• HARD BID & FEDERAL OR PUBLIC PROJECT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, On Screen Takeoff
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong organization skills and strong attention to detail
• OSHA certification is strongly preferred
