Job Title: Product Strategy and Operations Manager

Maxar is actively seeking a Product Strategy and Operations Manager to join our Product team. The Product Strategy and Operations Manager is responsible for helping develop, drive, and execute the strategy and operations to support our first in-class geospatial products. The Product Strategy and Operations Manager will work closely with product managers, engineering, sales, marketing, and executive leadership to create strategic plans within our growth sectors, defining the future of geospatial content in our industry and beyond. This position will support product managers and the broader product and engineering organization with business and corporate opportunities, market research and special projects. Individuals must have superior partnership skills as work typically requires a coordinated effort with team members and cross-functional business partners. Members of the team who are highly successful demonstrate the capability to think creatively, perform rigorous data analytics, develop recommendations that are data driven/fact-based, deliver results in a matrixed organization and have the flexibility and maturity to handle ambiguous situations. Individuals with a bias for action and the ability to overcome obstacles to successfully execute on multiple projects simultaneously tend to perform well in the role. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic thinking, strong project management skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in optimizing our product development and launch processes while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with product managers and the broader organization to drive product strategy, competitive benchmarking, analytics, business case development, and other special projects

  • Lead cross-functional projects while also performing advanced data modeling and analysis to facilitate strategic decisions

  • Take charge of identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, executing analysis, and presenting your findings to senior leadership, including the risks and opportunities associated with your recommendations

  • Continually seek ways to improve and streamline processes with keen focus on automation to allow maximum efforts on strategic analyses and the collection and dispersion of competitive information

  • Build knowledge of Maxar's business, to become a key business partner to Maxar organizations

  • Build and maintain inclusive partnerships directly with key stakeholders across the organization

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Sales, to develop and execute product operations strategies.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product operations and identify areas for improvement as feedback into the strategic plan.

  • Act as a key liaison between product management, engineering, sales, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on product roadmap priorities and timelines.

  • Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to product operations.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to product operations and recommend innovative solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math or other related analytical field. Four additional years of
    experience may be substituted for a degree

  • 5+ years of professional working experience, including 3+ years in strategic planning, business development, management consulting, or finance. A Master's degree may count for 2 years of experience

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects with cross-functional teams

  • Strong analytical skills, a capacity to “go beyond the obvious” and synthesize data/analysis to deliver fact-based insights and implications for business decisions

  • Excellent influencing skills / ability to build credibility with partners and internal stakeholders to drive action

  • Experience with change management strategies and processes

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities

  • Experience with tools like JIRA or Aha!

  • Self-starter and fast learner with an eye for business and research

  • Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and being able to develop clear and thoughtful recommendations with tools like PPT and Excel

  • Experience building executive level presentations

  • Ability to form relationships with key business partners across the company

  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment

In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$83,000.00 - $176,000.00 annually.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
