Job Description
Our client, a leader in the research and development of cutting edge technologies are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team. You will be implementing technical controls from the endpoint across the network, and into the cloud.
You will be instrumental in operational support, enabling project delivery and Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities, and ensuring system vulnerabilities are addressed through effective patch and lifecycle management across a diverse portfolio of systems within a corporate and scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing and acting upon security alerts generated by tooling
Monitoring the environment for potential threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise
Acting as an escalation point for other members of the security team, providing assistance and mentoring where necessary
Contributing to the development of SOC procedures and documentation
Assisting with remediation activities
Understanding Threat Intelligence and its use
Producing new workflows for automation tools
Successful applicants must be able to obtain SC Clearance and work from the offices in Solihull at least 2 days a week.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with security tooling such as SIEM, IDS, and Vulnerability Management
Knowledge of common network protocols
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
Understanding of security architecture
Experience in working within a hybrid Azure environment
Experience in securing a multi-site IT environment and hybrid/remote mobile devices and computers
