Position: Project Manager

Job Summary: GPAC, partnering with an industry leader in trenchless and open cut utility installation, is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager. The successful candidate will oversee complex utility projects, including water main and sanitary sewer installations using trenchless methods and open cut techniques. Our client provides a Total Trenchless Design-Build Solution, leveraging a broad range of capabilities to adapt to and overcome project challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Manage utility installation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Trenchless & Open Cut Techniques: Oversee the execution of various installation methods including jack and bore, pilot tube guided boring, pipe ramming, directional boring, CIPP lining, and more.
  • Coordination: Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and address any issues or changes effectively.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation such as progress reports, cost estimates, change orders, and compliance records.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all tasks and milestones are completed on time.
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Technology Adaptation: Utilize the latest technologies and methods to enhance project outcomes and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, providing solutions that benefit all stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing utility installation projects, with a focus on trenchless and open cut methods.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with techniques such as jack and bore, pilot tube guided boring, directional boring, CIPP lining, and more.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze project data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Education: Relevant degree or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management within the utilities sector.
