Real Estate Development Managers play a key role in achieving our responsible investment trategy and ensuring assets are developed and managed sustainably and deliver sustainable value. ESG is clearly embedded in each and every AMs responsibilities and represents a key priority for our assets.

The main responsibilities of the role:

The candidate's key responsibilities will consist in supporting the local team of development in Europe in the deployment of our sustainable construction policy. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support deployment and monitoring of Development ESG policy:
  • Coordinate with all local teams of Development in Europe to deploy the ESG construction policy, on all type of development project: light renovation, heavy renovation, new construction, on our different asset clases (office, residential, hotel, logistic, others),
  • Structure or adjust the ESG construction policy and guidelines, to best market practice,
  • Support the Pan-European Development Coordinator in deploying the ESG strategy at local level and among new geographies (like Australia) and platforms of development,
  • Support and coordinate the deployment with local development management (DM) team across multiple workstreams, asset clases and initiatives (ex : GRESB reporting, building energy efficiency, solar panels, green procurement...).
Support the development of the local ESG expertise:
  • Educate, train and support Development Managers on strategy / tools / processes, for sustainable construction,
  • Deploy technical guidelines and tools and foster adoption,
  • Support local teams to identify action plans of key properties and deploy best practices on development projects,
  • Coordinate reporting and internal communication tools (ex : business cases, best practices),
  • Review & co-ordinate ESG data collection, ensure data consistency and quality, with the Global ESG team.
Support ESG efforts with local internal and external stakeholders:
  • Monitor service providers at local level in relation with local teams (energy managers, certification advisors, energy/environmental auditors, regulatory montoring...) and contribute to the selection of the new ones,
  • Coordinate initiatives with external Development Managers (including awareness & monitoring of ESG targets),
  • Liaise with Legal & Compliance teams to review and assess local laws and legal framework evolutions,
  • Monitor industry evolution, benchmark competition, and contribute to interactions with external peers (according to seniority of the profile.
Profil:

Education/Qualifications
  • Master degree in Finance, Management, Engineering or Real Estate
  • Sustainability focused diploma are favourable
  • EPC, BREEAM or other rating schemes accredited would be a plus
Experience
  • Min 4 years of experience
  • Prior experience in the development activity with a strong focus on ESG department
  • Good understanding on the real estate industry
  • Knowledge of global real estate sustainability standards and certification schemes
  • Understanding of EU and local ESG regulations (ie. SFDR, Taxonomy, Loi Plage, Decret Tertiaire, etc) is considered a plus
Competencies
  • Accomplished interpersonal skills, ability to work efficiently in a team in an international and matrix environment,
  • Proven teamplayer,
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing,
  • Autonomous, initiative, entrepreneurial and result driven culture,
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple tasks in parallel,
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capacity,
  • Verbal and written communications and presentation skills,
  • Creative thinking, capability to develop innovative solutions,
  • Strong written and oral skills in English,
  • Any other European language is considered a plus.
