IT Infrastructure Engineer
Technical SQEP with competencies and experience in designing and supporting similar maritime deployed solutions will be required. The following tasks will need to be conducted to achieve desired outcome:
Overview
The goal of the Navy Digital Hosting (Deployed) [NDH(D)] service is to introduce a new modern, flexible and scalable Navy Hosting IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). NDH(D) will help to address obsolescence by re-platforming and uplifting the current landscape to a new, modern and consolidated service offering. The environment will provide a common set of services to the teams delivering data and digital solutions on behalf of the Royal Navy, enabling the teams to focus upon their solutions and the Royal Navy to benefit from economies of scale.
We are looking for an infrastructure engineer to lead data and ship integration and assurance activity.
Tasking
The role of the infrastructure engineer is to deliver and support current and build of future systems on a day-to-day basis. The infrastructure engineer is to be self managing to help deliver a high quality service to support the delivery of the Royal Navy's vision.
Essential
Sustain current deployed infrastructure (Test and Reference Rigs) (compute, storage, GPU, VMWare, Firewalls etc) providing hosting environment.
Strong VMware EXI 8.0, vCenter 7.0\8.0 and above configuration and deployment
Good understanding of VMware NSX-T and core networking fundamentals
Deploy Dell and of HP server hardware from defining BoM to VCF deployment's
Experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Windows 2019\22, Active Directory, GPO's and certificate services
Oversea, manage and support the 3rd party stakeholders use of reference and test systems through to desired outcomes trials
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Provide day to day support of deployed hosting environment services
Produce Low Level Design and Support documentation
Experience building and deploy enterprise infrastructure platforms
Desirable
Deploy and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF4 and above)
Delivering a zero-trust architecture with VMware NSX and Fortinet firewall's
Experience deploying Dell VxRail
Experience in deploying systems in a Maritime environment
Experience and or exposure to Redhat and or Ubuntu
Support security activity to achieve security accreditation of hosting service and interfaces such as JSP 604\440 compliance
Define and manage system trials and deliver report of trial outcomes.
System external interfaces to meet use case needs.
Development of hosting services and support ongoing testing of solution.
