Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hampshire
Salary: Up to £85,000 + Package
Future Build Recruitment is working with a leading residential contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes across Hampshire. Their projects range from traditional housing developments to luxury apartments. Due to continued success, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage all financial aspects of new build residential projects. From overseeing cost management, procurement, and contracts to ensuring projects stay on budget and meet quality standards, you’ll work closely with the project management team and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Control project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards.
- Procurement: Manage tendering, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and ensure value for the company.
- Valuations & Payments: Prepare interim valuations, monitor cash flow, and manage timely payments.
- Contract Administration: Handle variations, contractual disputes, and administer contracts per relevant terms.
- Financial Reporting: Produce cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts, updating management regularly.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in residential construction and new build projects.
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), cost management software, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
