MAIN ACTIVITES:

Job Summary:

The OCTG Strategic manager fosters OCTG business through supporting the sales and management on monitoring the business environment (O&G markets, global economy, geo-political events, costs environment), contributing to marketing activities (marketing plans, business analysis, market and competition intelligence, price reviews), participating to the annual business plan activities, managing the customer satisfaction survey, managing budget and relationships with market intelligence companies used by the marketing team (Rystad, MEPS,…). Participate to various events (conferences) planned by various organizations (EVOLEN, MEDEF) and market intelligence firms (Rystad, S&P Global).

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the OCTG Strategic manager are:

Market Intelligence:

  • Lead market studies, portfolio review and competitor’s benchmark with Sales, Tech Sales and M&D,
  • Preparation of analytical notes on the O&G and global business environment trends for the ExCom,
  • Build quarterly report on the market environment for ExCom presentation (OCTG Barometer),
  • Generate quantitative and qualitative business analysis (imports/export, cost studies, business cases, communication kits) to support the commercial activity and business decision making,
  • Build marketing plans to support the OCTG business line strategy,
  • Support Services and Accessories product lines on ad-hoc marketing topics,
  • Report weekly on market changes
  • Participate to market events and conferences (MEDEF, EVOLEN, Rystad, CERAWeek)

Pricing:

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support price recommendation (macro environment, rig count analysis, cost environment)
  • Design and maintain Price Adjustment Formulas (PAF)

Business Planning:

  • Pilot the OCTG sales plan: macro-scenario definition, price scenario, market size and Vallourec volumes modelling, coordination of the validation loops with sales & tech sales teams
  • Coordinate its integration in the Group strategic plan
  • Prepare presentations and final note for restitution to the teams

Customer Satisfaction Survey

  • In collaboration with Commercial Excellence team, prepare the survey, manage dispatching and timeline for collection
  • Analyse results and prepare restitutions to the sales teams and management

Suppliers point of contact:

  • Manage the relations with our supplier for market intelligence solutions
  • Lead the subscription and renewal process with the procurement team

FINANCIAL DIMENSION OF THE POSITION:

  • Contribute to business decision making, maximizing margins and deliveries
  • Provide financial analysis
  • Negotiations with suppliers of market intelligence

TEAM COORDINATION (management hierarchical/functional, etc.) :

  • Will work closely with Sales, Tech-Sales and M&D

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

☒ Necessary: 3-5 years in similar marketing position

☒ Wished:

  • E&P operators, EPC, Oil-Field Service experience
  • Experience in the Energy sector or global manufacturing company

EDUCATION:

☒ Necessary: Master’s Degree (Business or Engineering)

LINGUISTIC KNOWLEDGE:
