Position Purpose

The Energy One ecosystem of technology and services is delivered to customers to assist participants in the wholesale energy sector operate and trade energy.

Energy One tech and product teams are distributed widely in Australia, France, Belgium and UK. The team work on more than 17 products, all at a different stage of their life cycle.

At Energy One, we want to deliver exceptional software efficiently and effectively. To achieve this, we need to be constantly evolving technologically in order to maintain and improve our products.

The vacancy is within the French team, in Paris, and the main purpose of the role is to design, develop and maintain web applications for customers or internal tools.

The interface of our web application is a key reason to choose our product. The image of the company must be reflected in our product and its interface. The usability of the application is a true competitive advantage and is key differentiator in the bidding phases.

The main challenge for the Front End Developer is to develop a high-performance application with a particular focus on the UI/UX. Our customers have a vast amount of information at their disposal (such as table and graphics) to help them make the right decisions, therefore the quality of the interface is paramount, whether in terms of performance or simplicity.

We offer access to marketplaces, so the real time performance is important in this service, which implies having a high-quality front-end application to retrieve and display a large amount of information instantaneously.

In France, we have a team of 15 back-end developer, and a small team of 2 front-end developers. We are looking for skilled front-end developers to join this team and have a strong impact on our product and development team. We are only at the beginning of this journey, lots of decisions have to be taken and deployed!

• Excellent communication skills to share ideas and technical solutions effectively.
• The ability to mentor and guide less experienced developers.
• Curiosity and a desire to learn continuously.

Key Responsibilities

Whilst we expect all our employees to do what needs to be done to demonstrate their support of Energy One, below are some specific aspects of your role for which you will be responsible:

• Design, development and maintenance of the front-end, including design system

-Create strong user intimacy

-Understand the need and imagine some solutions for our users

-Development and maintenance of front-end applications

-Performance optimisation

-Continuously improve of the product

• Testing and validation

-Implementing unit and integration tests

-Working with QA to implement validation tests

• Mentoring

-Junior coaching

• Other duties as required within their capability and skills

Knowledge and experience

• 3+ year of professional experience as a Front End Developer
• Proven experience working with Angular
• Proven UI design experience
• Good knowledge of object-oriented architecture and coding patterns
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science

Performance Measures

Objectives will be defined collaboratively with the Head of Technology on the following areas:

• Increased application quality
• Improving performance
• Support and development for junior staff
