Taylor Root is pleased to be working with an internationally recognized retail and consumer goods brand to help them recruit a Senior Regulatory Counsel.

About the Role

The role will lead and advise on a wide range of UK and global health and safety regulations. Reporting into the Head of Legal for Compliance, the Senior Regulatory Counsel will act as the main point of contact for all health and safety legal matters and will guide leaders across the business on legal compliance issues, including potential risks associated with corporate decisions and operations.

Responsibilities

• Be the key day to day H&S legal contact and continually identify risks.
• Get to know and understand the strategy, plans, and activities of the business, always seeking opportunities to better connect the work of the legal team with the realities of colleagues’ day to day work.
• In all elements of your work drive towards consistent ways of working to help avoid silos and deliver a consistent compliance approach across the business.
• Leading on key projects within the business over a variety of legal areas (but with a focus of risk and compliance).
• Horizon scan for relevant regulations that may affect the business and pro-actively work with the business to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a regulatory / compliance / competition legal team (either in-house or external). Detailed knowledge of UK health and safety laws is essential. Experience in FMGC / Food safety law is highly desirable. Preferably 3-7 years PQE but please consider applying if you are outside these parameters.
