They are a pioneering and ethical business that takes pride in sharing its delicious and super healthy range of food and drink products with the increasingly health-conscious UK consumer. Having grown distribution through the UK and international retailers, they are to step-change their growth over the next three years.


Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer we are looking for a proven, strategic leader to head up a significant chunk of their UK retail estate.


THE ROLE.


The head of the business unit will work closely with the board and take responsibility for leading the key strategic accounts across the UK and Ireland with revenue responsibility close to £20m. Leading a small, high-performing team you will set the strategic direction and growth plans for all accounts.


This is still a hands-on role. While you ultimately own the growth strategy you will enjoy maintaining excellent customer relationships across the estate. responsibilities will include:



  1. Unlock the strongest customer relationships via the Senior Buying Managers, influencing decision-makers both internally and externally
  2. Developing and coaching a high potential, high performance team, setting clear objectives and ensuring execution with excellence
  3. Deliver Best in Class Annual Account Plans including compelling JBPs, Category Visions, Brand Planning Days, Range Reviews and Store Activation
  4. Ownership of the Business Unit P&L, driving accountability of each customer’s contribution via the account team
  5. Build strong multifunctional relationships with Category Management, Marketing, Product Development, Shopper Marketing, Operations and Finance
  6. Ensure operational discipline behind Forecasting, Promotional Planning and Financial Management of the accounts.


ABOUT YOU


This is an exciting, fast-paced role. You will love taking ownership and making things happen. You will have deep and proven experience of winning across the UK Grocery estate.


We want to hear from you if you can demonstrate some of the following:


  1. Proven experience leading large and multiple Grocery accounts
  2. Proven ability to drive strategic relationships with senior counterparts on the retailer side, alongside multifunctional partnerships with key internal stakeholders
  3. Experience of managing direct reports and delivering through others
  4. A strong commercial mindset with a retailer/shopper first approach
  5. Comfortable working in a fast-moving SME, thriving under pace
  6. Team player with excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
  7. Excellent P&L understanding, data and analytical skills, with confident use of Excel
  8. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise their workload effectively
