Job Description
We are working with a global law firm who are looking for an 8+ PQE In-House Employment Lawyer to join their London team.
Under the supervision of the General Counsel the Employment Lawyer is responsible for providing strategic legal advice to the firm regarding employment risks and remedies, and all aspects of the employment life cycle and cross-border employment matters in the jurisdictions in which the firm operates (Europe, Middle East & Asia)
Some of the responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal advice, guidance, and support on international employment related legal documents
- In coordination with the Human Resources Department, supporting investigations of employment-related claims by developing investigation plans, drafting interview outlines, interviewing witnesses, reviewing relevant files, summarizing evidence, and writing investigation reports
- Advising on and oversee employment law related compliance matters and responses to audits and legal information requests by regulatory authorities, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Employment Tribunal, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and the Information Commissioner's Office
- Supporting the Office of General Counsel, COLP, and Human Resources Department in other legal matters as requested, such as corporate governance, risk management, and ethics
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in employment law, preferably in a large law firm or in-house legal department
- Be fluent in English, and proficiency in another language is an asset
- Have excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with unfailing attention to detail and accuracy
