Job Description
This position will directly support the profitable growth of the North America Builder's Risk Direct Insurance team as a Senior Construction Underwriter, based in New York, Chicago, or Houston, producing Builder's Risk, Contractors All Risks (CAR), and Erection All Risks (EAR) insurance contracts on a single project or annual basis form within Civil Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power, Renewables, Heavy Industries, and Buildings segments is both US and Canadian territories.
Required experience & competencies:
You are a senior underwriter with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in your insurance market with exposure to all types of international construction risks. Previous experience of working in the construction industry is also desirable.

* An enquiring mindset with the ability to work independently as a motivated and pro-active self-starter.
* A clear understanding of the value and role of leadership together with an active approach to risk management.
* Self-disciplined, principled and decisive decision making.

* Ability to evaluate, condense and summarize key information.
* Confidence to develop and maintain a network of brokers and clients.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills and confident to represent SCOR at conferences, meetings or professional associations.
* Able to travel occasionally to New York and other hubs.
Required Education:
Engineering degree and/or recognized business, mathematics or insurance degrees.
