AI Engineering Manager (hands-on)

Stakha is looking for an AI Engineering Manager (80/95k€ par an) to join an international scale-up based in Paris.

This company is looking for an AI Engineering Manager to take the leadership of a senior team working on 2 products :

• A mature (on prod) customer-facing SaaS consisting of AI image enhancement
• An AI image generation product in the pre-production stage

It is a hands-on role (50/50 between management & coding)

Staff Size: 200 people

Location: Paris, 1er arr.

Remote Policy: Hybrid, 2 days remote / week

Tech stack: Python, Pytorch, AWS (FYI: frontend is on Typescript, React)

Responsibilities :

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineers (Computer Vision, Data, Fullstack), fostering top-tier performance and a collaborative, innovative work environment.
• Tech Vision: Direct the AI endeavors to ensure they remain at the cutting edge of technology. Oversee the development of two products: one mature product and another pre-market fit product focused on generative AI.
• Technical Strategy: Define and drive the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals while leveraging the latest advancements in AI and machine learning.
• Hands-on Contribution: Maintain a hands-on approach in coding and problem-solving, providing technical guidance and best practices to support the team.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product management, translating tech potentials into impactful, market-ready offerings.
• Quality Guardian: Establish and uphold quality control measures, guaranteeing the reliability and precision of the tech outputs.
• Performance Management: Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and support professional development within the team.

Salary: 80-95k€ + equity

Targeted profile :

• 6+ years in backend engineering (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision) and ideally 2+ years in management of tech teams
• Senior in Python, Pytorch, software architecture, and good familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
• Fluent in English
• XP on fast-paced environment / entrepreneurial mindset / excellent communication skills

Very-nice-to-have skills :

• AI skills: Knowledge of the Stable Diffusion model, Variational autoencoders (VAEs), and generative adversarial networks (GANs)
• French speaker
