Grid Engineer/Grid Expert

⚡ Hamburg, hybrid working model.

⚡ Up to €100, 000 DOE (with additional bonus etc.)

⚡ Start-up company, interested in growing their presence in the German renewables market.

The group has a core focus on developing utility-scale PV projects as well as storage solutions (BESS). They have provided over 24MW of power in Germany alone, with over 20 projects across Central and Southern Europe.

✅ As their new Grid Expert, you’ll be key to their German projects but will not be limited to this country alone, and with time your role will become pan-European. You’ll be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle and different phases of the grid connection process: from development, through to planning concepts and obtaining the certification.

The company has seen exciting growth since their conception. Whilst currently at 30 employees, they have ambitious plans to increase this number over the next few months, in which you can make your mark in the foundations of the business. ✅ The role is perfect for someone who has extensive knowledge of the German grid process as you will be the central point of contact for grid activities i.e. processing connection requests, designing the point of connections and liaising with TSO’s. This role is a key part of the company's strategic growth and has plenty of scope to grow into a senior leadership role in the future.

What we're looking for:

3-4 years of grid-related experience.

A degree in electrical engineering (or related fields).

Experience in the renewable energy sector - particularly solar, wind, or BESS grid integration.

The main responsibilities will include:

Processing ALL grid-related matters for Germany and Europe. You’ll be covering the lifecycle of projects, with a specific focus on the grid connections for MV and HV ground-mounted solar, wind, and BESS.

Building and maintaining relationships with grid operators, ensuring grid compatibility tests are quickly obtained.

Conducting grid calculations, creating LV/MV/HV circuit diagrams, as well as the models/designs for substations at the connection point. This will be completed on a regular basis, ensuring the realisation and feasibility of projects.
