Junior Risk Management Officer (6-Month Contract)

Key Responsibilities:
Support in Risk Identification & Assessment:

• Assist in identifying, measuring, and reporting financial, operational, compliance, and market risks across the company’s capital market operations.
• Support in conducting regular risk assessments, preparing reports,
  and analyzing the company's risk profile.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting:

• Assist in monitoring key risk indicators and ensuring compliance
  with established risk management policies.
• Help prepare risk management reports for senior management
  and regulatory bodies, including but not limited to MAS periodic
  returns.
• Support the reporting process to the parent company in China,
  ensuring that risk updates are in line with corporate guidelines and
  timelines.

Regulatory Compliance Support:

• Assist in ensuring that the company adheres to MAS regulations, including those related to Capital Market Services (CMS) license holders.
• Work closely with the compliance team to ensure timely filing or regulatory reports and maintain awareness of changes in regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Communication:

• ​Liaise with stakeholders in Hong Kong and China, ensuring effective two-way communication of risk management strategies and requirements.

Risk Control and Internal Process Support:

• Support the development of internal controls to mitigate identified risks and ensure the proper implementation of the firm’s risk policies.
• Assist in tracking and maintaining risk registers and incident reports.

Support in Risk Mitigation:

• Help implement risk mitigation strategies under the direction of senior risk management staff.
• Participate in stress testing exercises, risk scenario analysis, and contingency planning.

Risk Culture & Training:

• Promote a risk-aware culture within the company by supporting the dissemination of risk-related materials and trainings.
• Assist in organizing risk management workshops and training sessions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, business administration or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in risk management, financial services, or related fields (internship experience in risk management is acceptable for fresh graduates).
• Familiarity with MAS regulatory guidelines and risk management practices, particularly in capital markets, is preferred.
• Knowledge of Chinese regulatory guidelines and familiarity with the operations of Chinese SOEs will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to handle and interpret data.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) in order to communicate with the mandarin speaking stakeholders.
• Attention to details and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and within a cross-cultural teamenvironment.
