Bookkeeper

Position: Bookkeeper Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team as soon as possible. Position is a remote position working from home but the candidate needs to be based around the Western Cape, close to Somerset West , because there will be times you need to go into the office. This position is remote, bi-monthly meet-ups reporting to an office located within the Helderberg area. Job Description : As an Onboarding Team Bookkeeper at our client, you will be responsible for efficiently onboarding 8 to 10 new bookkeeping clients each week. These clients are USA-based chiropractic practices, and your role will involve setting up their books to adhere to our client’s standard reporting framework (i.e., changing their original chart of accounts structure and performing their 2024 bookkeeping in the new format). Your primary goal is to ensure each client's financial data passes the Quality Control Review for seamless handover to the ongoing monthly bookkeeping department. Responsibilities : Standardize new bookkeeping clients' accounting data to our client’s reporting framework. Update year-to-date (YTD) transaction data. Perform bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations. Pass QC review for handover to the ongoing monthly bookkeeping department. Additional Notes : Even though this is a fast-paced role and requires high volumes of clients moving through each bookkeeper's hands, our client’s automation tools, standardized processes, and customized software enable efficient work. While the principles are standard, each business has its own unique characteristics, making the role dynamic and varied. A basic understanding of the American tax system and the chiropractic industry is required to accurately treat transactions. Supplemental training will be provided during the onboarding process. Requirements : 2 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a client-facing bookkeeping/accounting role. Strong knowledge of cloud accounting software. A tech-savvy mindset to handle automated processes and systems integration. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a deadline-driven approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. The position fully remote , working hours 8am to 5pm.
