Job Description
Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team in Barrow for a 12-month contract. This role is within the Weapons Systems business unit and will involve a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days on-site per week. The position will focus on estimating and costing within the defence industry, providing crucial support for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and undertake the compilation of estimates and detailed costing information as part of the Commercial function.
Lead and support estimating, pricing, and tendering activities across a wide range of programmes and bid activities, including:
UK MOD
USG
International customers
Competitive and Sole source proposals
Fixed price proposals
Assist Procurement in evaluating supplier proposals for price reasonableness.
Engage in strategic pricing activities including parametric estimating and cost modelling.
Job Requirements:
Experience in estimating within the defence and security sector, particularly in weapons systems.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Understanding of commercial project management within defence sectors.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid arrangement, with 2 days per week on-site in Barrow.
SC Security Clearance or ability to obtain it.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
