Technical controller & reporting analyst for CLP Business Unit supports the Technical Controlling Manager on the delivery of financial results of Credit & Lifestyle Protection Business, delivering sound reporting advice to senior management and their teams, and providing analysis that links financial reports to business strategies with the help of another Technical Controller.

This role is responsible in performing the appropriate financial controls for the consolidation and reporting of Group financial information related to CLP Business. They also participate in the implementation of new standards.

The Technical Controlling team has overall responsibility for financial planning and the coordination of financial exercises (Half-Year and Full-Year Actuals, forecast, budget and Strategic plan). At such, the team is the single point of contact of the CEO of CLP and manages (while ultimately reporting to the Head of Group Reporting & Controlling) all the AXA Group financial requirement (PBRC, GPM).

The holder of the position works closely with the wider AXA Partners Finance teams, CLP Technical Teams, as well with Actuarial and Accounting teams of AXA France and AXA Group (PBRC, GPM), so relationship-building and planning skills are essential in this role.

The key responsabilities are:

1. Secure and support in the financial closing processes on Controlling & Reporting of Statutory & IFRS17

• Build the planning of the closing activities (Half-Year/Pre Close & Full-Year, Forecasts, Budgets, Strategic Plan) to align processes with a focus on the reporting calendar

• Challenge the Statutory results provided either by AXA France (Half Year/Pre Close & Full Year) or by AXA Partners (Forecasts, Budgets, Strat Plan, Actuals) and monitor/explain variances.

• Supervising the deliveries and ensure the deadlines are met by technical teams of CLP, AXA Partners and AXA France teams.

• Production of financial statements in compliance with IFRS17 requirements for the Company on the forecasts, budgets and Strategic Plan basis.

• Assist in producing actual financial statements, validation and analysis of data, key KPI to fulfil the Company's reporting obligations in line with the IFRS17 program of the Group.

• Support in building the Strategic Plan, target and Budget deliveries for CLP Business Unit. Actively contribute to the Plan Process with the Regions as well with the CLP PMP team.

• Lead the data input and control of Consolidation schedules in Magnitude and support the reconciliation with Reporting schedule

• Assist in interpreting and reconciling Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet accounts that are compliant to IFRS17

2. Monitor, steer and communicate the performance of CLP

• Analysis:

o Provide P&L analysis (variance analysis, volume effects, risk/opportunities etc.), and commentaries required to Group, CEO of CLP on all quarterly/annual group submission or on an ad-hoc basis and support AXA Partners reporting team for Monthly Business Report.

o Support the definition and implementation of financial dashboards in support of BU Excom and relevant functions relying where possible on existing tools; liaising with Finance Support teams to operationalise, align and integrate into AXA Partners Global Dashboards. Ensure on time and on quality delivery of reports and analysis to the Excom and the Shareholder

• Steering:

o Liaising with CLP teams for the P&L projections deliveries, challenge teams in their assumptions and support implementation of top-down budget decision

• Communication:

o Participate to the delivery on key messages and insights on the financial performance to AXA Group, CLP CEO and AXA France

o Be a point of contact between CLP, APH and Group to defend the above; but also, to inform and challenge the BU with regards to interactions / dependencies with Group

3. Design & set up process improvements to secure efficiency and good coordination with CLP BU/AXA France/AXA Partners team

• Support the development of quality standards for all accounting, system and reporting processes in IFRS17

• Ensure the compliance of AXA Partners' consolidated financial statements with the existing AXA Group and IFRS standard

• Draw out and drive the future operational closing process towards IFRS17 with good understanding of IFRS 17 changes and impacts on reporting and numbers. Work with AXA France, APH, CLP to clarify RACI and processes.

• Optimize the operations through automation/structuration of reporting tools and with process improvement mindset

• Assist Internal audit in opened audit topics and follow-up

• On own scope, ensure the correct execution of IFC controls, especially the Scala update with associated proofs of evidence

4. Support AXA Partners senior leadership and CLP management (Solvency 2, regulatory requests, etc.)

• Coordinate between AXA France /AXA Partners and CLP teams and assist to deliver the requested information to regulatory bodies or external CLP partner

• Support Finance teams in ad hoc financial reporting request

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Accounting, Controlling or similar. Professional Certification (such as CA or CPA) preferred.

• Knowledge in Solvency 2 and/or IFRS17 disclosures. Ability to understand different reporting frameworks in insurance.

• Good understanding of the insurance business (organization, risks, processes and financial reporting) ; for internal candidates, some knowledge on Magnitude would be a plu

• At least 8 years of experience in Finance (Consolidation, Reporting, Controlling) preferably in Insurance or Financial Service

• Experience in consolidation and reporting systems and analytical technique

• Experience in a multi-cultural environment and transversal project management.

• Effective communication and writing in English (including conference meetings, presentation, reports, instructions, standards). French is a plus.

• Highly organized, structured & proactive; ability to work with autonomy

• Good inter-cultural skills; ability to work in international environment

• Good networking; ability to quickly build an effective and trust-based relationship with all entities & Group correspondents;

• Curious, proactive, reactive with a good Business Sense
