Oil Analyst - Established Energy trading Global MNC

Are you fascinated with the global oil markets and love to sniff out the opportunities within a complex ecosystem of traders and asset owners, and possess the skills to drive strategic insight?
This is an established and leading integrated energy trading global MNC which is looking to grow its global trading presence. Due to business expansion, the company is looking to hire a high calibre oil analyst who will provide market research and analysis for its conventional fuel desks.
Role
Reporting to the head of trading analytics, the Analyst will play an integral role in fundamental analysis through pricing and demand-supply modelling. Through the use of external data sources and programming skills, he/ she will also be analysing macro industry trends, tracking refinery developments, competitor performance and provide the decision-making tools necessary for management to identify risk and opportunities. The end goal is to ultimately derive forward-looking balances and to track down shutdowns/ expansions of refinery units, specification changes and ultimate impact. in driving the analysis of all refinery data across all the trading books. He/ She will also lead and support projects in line with the business growth agenda including but not restricted to process improvements in the other regions. The Analyst will also provide traders the analytics support needed for origination and structured product activities.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a degree/ Masters' in a Finance Discipline, with 3 to 5 years' of work experience in reputable and established Energy trading companies or National Oil Companies. Programming proficiencies in Python, R, VBA, SQL, Matlab and Power BI will have a distinct advantage. Due to the high intensity of the role, the individual must have the ability to work under pressure and independently. You will have an established track record of contributing directly to trading performance via collecting, interpreting and transmitting actionable information.
