Criminal Duty Solicitor

The Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Solicitor to join their dedicated Criminal Law team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about criminal defence, possess exceptional advocacy skills, and be able to manage a diverse caseload. This is a unique opportunity to work within a Tier 1 Legal 500 Firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients at police stations, ensuring their rights are protected
• Provide expert legal advice and representation in Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts
• Handle a varied caseload of criminal matters, from minor offenses to serious crimes
• Conduct thorough case research, gather evidence, and prepare legal documentation
• Advocate on behalf of clients during trials, hearings, and bail applications

The Candidate

• Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate
• Accreditation as a Duty Solicitor
• Proven track record of managing complex criminal cases
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and achieving the best possible outcomes
