Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in the GTA Ontario, Canada. This role is instrumental in leading and developing our Health & Safety programs at a national level. The focus will be on ensuring a safe, healthy, and secure environment for employees while complying with federal and provincial legislation.Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive health and safety program that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations- Enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards- Manage Worker Compensation programs, conduct investigations, and manage return-to-work processes- Support all branches on health and safety matters, including the proper use of safety equipment and adherence to safety protocols- Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends, track progress, and recommend improvements- Create, maintain, and provide health and safety training programs and develop safe work methods- Prepare reports, maintain safety records and documentation, and follow up with employees to ensure compliance- Travel to different branches as required.- Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety Specialist role or a related field.- Proficiency in electrical distribution is required for this role.- Experience in logistics and distribution is essential.- Knowledge and experience in wholesale distribution is a prerequisite for this role.- Familiarity with warehouse distribution is necessary.- Applicants must have knowledge and experience in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).- Experience in conducting safety audits is required.- Applicants should be familiar with safety standards and regulations in the workplace.- A strong ability to communicate and enforce safety standards is required.- Applicants should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve safety issues effectively.- Candidates should show a strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the organization.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
