About the Company
A1 Personnel are currently recruiting for a CNC Miller for a permanent contract on behalf of our client based in Basildon. As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will play a vital role in producing high-precision components for the aerospace and automotive industry. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Program CNC machines using G-code or CAM software to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Monitor the machining process, making adjustments as necessary to meet tight tolerances.
- Perform quality checks using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (coordinate measuring machine).
- Ensure that all parts meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain CNC equipment by performing routine checks and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and CAD models.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to continuously improve processes and efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code) and setup of CNC milling machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics.
- Strong understanding of materials and machining processes.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.
- Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
Pay range and compensation package
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am-4.30pm
- Friday: 8am-3.30pm
- Overtimes available paid x1.5
