In this pivotal role, you will partner with senior leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support the organisation's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives, guiding long-term planning and resource allocation
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation and presentation of timely and accurate financial reports, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, conduct variance analysis, and implement effective forecasting models to enhance financial accuracy
  • Commercial Operations Optimisation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Manage cash flow projections and working capital strategies to ensure optimal liquidity and financial stability
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust risk management practices, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and internal controls
  • Team Development & Leadership: Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic financial guidance and support for negotiations
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate financial systems, implement new technologies, and streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency

Skills & Experience for the Director of Finance:

  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modelling
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to anticipate financial trends and implement effective strategies
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent presentation skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in reoccurring payments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; Master's/MBA preferred
  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel
