Job Description

Due to an ever-growing order book, and continual research and development projects, we wish to recruit an additional PLC Software Engineer. The successful candidate will be part of the Electronic Design and Implementation Team with responsibility for developing electronic and electrical control systems for our mushroom harvesting systems. The main function of the role will include the design and production of control systems at our site in Gilford, and, installation and commissioning of our mushroom harvesting systems on customer sites. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel internationally, as required, depending on the project and customer site location. Job Description Software development (utilising Schneider control systems) Design of electrical schematics Produce accurate BOMs for electrical components Production of electrical drawings Generating and maintaining technical documentation including work instructions, bills of materials, technical file and critical components lists. Installation and commission of systems at customer sites. Post installation customer support and troubleshooting. Work on R&D projects to further our current product range, bringing new products to market. Person Specification Essential BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience Experience in schematics and software programming Ability to read and produce detailed electrical drawings Knowledgeable in current electrical design regulations and standards Demonstratable electrical expertise Ability to improve products/services by applying your professional knowledge Ability to build, install and commission products Maintain technical specifications Trouble shooting and problem solving skills Strong attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to prioritise workload Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills Ability to work successfully on your own initiative and as part of a team. Desirable Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems Certified on 18th Edition Regs Job type - Full-time permanent Hours Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Fri 8am to 1pm Note: hours/days may vary during installation at customer sites, and to meet project deadlines Axis Technology & Development is a family run business and an exciting company to work for, with R&D at its forefront.
