The role:
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Project Manage to support the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within the Information Systems Projects Department. Reporting to the Head of IS Projects, you will gain hands-on experience managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication. This role is ideal for someone looking to kickstart their project management career in a dynamic environment.
What does this involve:
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, status reports, and risk logs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve issues or escalate them to the Head of IS Projects when necessary.
- Track and manage project resources, and deliverables.
- Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Provide support to the Head of IS Projects in reporting, change management, and stakeholder communication.
- Support post-project evaluations and assist in documenting lessons learnt.
What are we looking for in our new colleague:
- Basic understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and best practices.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
What experience and qualifications will I need:
- Experience in a project support role or as a project coordinator.
- Knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management techniques.
- Familiarity with tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
- A relevant certification such as PRINCE2 Foundation, CAPM, or equivalent is a bonus.
